The Prelude to the Dream race at Eldora Speedway has been reschedule for Wednesday, September 3rd at Eldora Speedway the dirt-track race where top NASCAR drivers like Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart (Eldora Speedway owner), Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth and even more top drivers will battle for first place. These drivers donate their time to participate in this race to help raise money for military charities.

Proceeds from this race will go to support four military-themed charities: Wounded Warrior Project, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Operation Homefront, and Fisher House. These four charities all cater to severely injured military personnel or fallen heroes and their families.

I was able to get a "loaner" vehicle, thanks Jim and Ryan:-) I moved just south of Half Moon Bay, CA last year and I went to the BMW Dealership closest to me (I won't mention their name) to make an appt. for the work I needed done. I thought all BMW's are the same & I would be treated great as I've always experienced at the Pleasanton BMW, plus It would save me time not having to drive 85 miles one way. Unfortunately, It was the exact opposite of Pleasanton BMW. It took quite a while to be acknowledged & when asking for an estimate on the service, I felt like it was an inconvenience to the service advisor who was helping me. It was definitely worth the 170 mile round -trip go out Pleasanton!!!!"

Use CARS for new cars

Considering trading in your vehicle? Take advantage of the CAR Allowance Rebate System (CARS), a federal program that helps the consumers buy or lease a more environmentally-friendly vehicle from dealers when they trade in a less fuel-efficient car or truck. The CARS is basically a $1 billion government program through which the consumers can get a $3,500 or $4,500 discount from the dealer when they trade in their old vehicle and buy or lease a new one. One main plus point of the program is that the consumers do not have to register anywhere or at any time for this program. Here are a few important points to keep in mind to utilize the benefits of this program.

Your vehicle must be less than 25 years old on the trade-in date
Only purchase or lease of new vehicles qualify
Generally, trade-in vehicles must get 18 or less MPG (some very large pick-up trucks and cargo vans have different requirements).
Trade-in vehicles must be registered and insured continuously for the full year preceding the trade-in
The program requires the scrapping of your eligible trade-in vehicle, and that the dealers disclose to you an estimate of the scrap value of your trade-in. The scrap value, however minimal, will be in addition to the rebate, and not in place of the rebate.
Last but not the least, the CARS program runs through November 1, 2009 or when the funds are exhausted, whichever comes first
